Kenny Wayne Shepherd was Awesome!
Beautiful Meadowbrook has very helpful employees, surprised to find you can get food and drink there (but it is a bit pricey). I was very pleased and surprised to find we were seated in the third row from the stage! Never been that close at a Kenny Wayne Shepherd concert before. I didn't exactly know where our seats were located because it was hard to tell from the website.
I sang my voice raw for the whole set. Meadowbrook's website said "No recording devices" so I didn't bring my camera, seems like everyone else did. Dang! I could have taken some great pictures. But still, he played some new and old blues songs and two Jimi Hendrix songs.
Disney On Ice should have opened for Kenny Wayne Shepherd. The band carried him. Old George is very full of himself and doesn't play that much. Lots of people left before his set was over.
Diana Ross was amazingly full of energy!
The police said they couldn’t ensure that masses of people stood at the concrete passage in front of us -which at the beginning we were told they will make sure they move! That was disappointing :( And we had to Stand all the time to be able to see just a glimpse of Disney On Ice! The other thing we were promised that the taxi boat could drop us and bring us back at night, then we were told that we will be dropped back by a golf cart which was a little scary as the traffic was heavy and the driver was driving very fast! So next time if I go to the promenade I know that I will only buy the front chairs - if I could afford it- or not go at all! Well, she was amazing even just hearing her and seeing a little glimpse of her every now and then! Then our disappointment was that masses of people stood at the concrete passage in front of us -which at the beginning we were told that the police will make sure they move... But again the police said they couldn’t ...!!!
Enough of the politics
The concert, however, had good energy and they sounded solid. Not their best, but good. Bono deflated the crowd by starting to talk politics. We attend a concert to get away from being inundated with political talk 24/7. It completely took it too far this time. Furthermore, the band members are not even citizens of this country and should not speak negatively about our country regardless of one's affiliation. I know Bono has always been political. We come for the music. Period. You should know better. I have been to several Disney On Ice concerts and honestly, will not go to another.
Brad Outdid Himself
Miranda, Justin, and Disney On Ice did a great job at this concert. Family quality time involves clearing our schedules to be together. I was totally surprised by how great this concert was. One of my children has moved to Wisconsin, so we called him to "be with us" at the concert by holding the phone up. Last year, I saw Disney On Ice at Stagecoach and was not impressed. My adult kids loved him, though (can't believe we were at the same concert). We do concerts together as a family, and my kids wanted to go, so I decided to buy the tickets and be quiet. All 3 acts were awesome!
Never got to see LED ZEPPELIN?? GET THE LED OUT!!!
I attended this concert with some cautious apprehension, much like anyone experiencing Disney On Ice for the first time. The song "No Quarter" was my litmus test. I honestly doubted they could perform the lead guitar part as it sounded in the original recording. The guitar in that song emits a unique sound, like an electric cable emitting sparks along its length. I was certain they wouldn't be able to replicate it. However, to my surprise, they exceeded my expectations. All the guitarists performed brilliantly, especially Paul Hammond, who played that specific guitar part almost flawlessly. This band, in my opinion, is outstanding. Paul Sinclair's vocals paid a fitting tribute to Robert Plant's. Each member of the band played their role exceptionally well. Let me tell you, this concert was a success.
Real Review
Disney On Ice live is an experince you will not want miss please dont miss it! But all sides have some obstructed views beacuse of camera men. I believe the best seats would be a mezzanine level to see the fights as on TV. First off I had floor seating and if your looking to get a TV experince by being on the floor dont get floor seats. You do get to see a good amount of the action but your looking through the cage. Floor seats are really for the access like meeting fighters and celebs and having your own conncessions and bathroom. But its hard not to go to the floor after you have done it because of all the action going.
